Field Service Engineer (Mobile Mechanic/Vehicle Technician)

Location: Preston & Blackburn Territory
Hours: 8am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday
Salary: £31,000 - £34,500 Starting Salary

The Field Service Engineer role is a fantastic opportunity to work with a highly successful and international manufacturer of forklift trucks. You'll enjoy a field-based role offering comprehensive on-the-job training, an extensive benefits package, and progression routes.

This role is suitable for engineers from any kind of plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural, or similar equipment. It's also a great career opportunity for vehicle technicians looking to move into a new industry, as the company will provide full training. You need to demonstrate mechanical service and repair skills, ideally have engine diagnostic capabilities, and some basic electrical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and breakdown coverage on materials handling machinery.
  2. Provide reactive breakdown coverage within the allocated geographical area.
  3. Complete comprehensive training to become fully competent on all machinery and equipment.
  4. Manage spares placed in the van overnight.

Requirements:

  1. Experience with plant, forklifts, HGV, agricultural, or similar equipment; automotive technicians/motor trade will also be suitable.
  2. Engine diagnostics and some basic electrical skills.
  3. Ideally hold a level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
