Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our procurement team at Harrison Scott Associates. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for sourcing and scheduling raw materials, finished products, and services from the UK, Europe, and Far East.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Raise Purchase Orders on our SAP MRP system
  • Interpret forecast changes/amendments & impact on raw material stock availability
  • Address stock/Invoice queries
  • Liaise with suppliers via phone/email
  • Request/sample shipments
  • Check documentation/arrange payment for imported products
  • Update import delivery reports and liaise with Freight Forwarders/Warehouses to allocate deliveries/bookings
  • Maintain integrity of information on SAP system
  • Create new product codes and input into SAP
  • Liaise with Sales/Marketing/Logistics Departments regarding stock availability issues
Requirements:
  • Purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally non-FMCG and/or importing environment
  • Proven experience of using SAP would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to work under pressure and to strict deadlines
  • Proven experience in using Ms Excel
  • Conscientious, reliable, and can demonstrate great attention to detail
  • GCSE Grade C or above in English Language/Mathematics
About the Role

This role assumes responsibility for the Procurement, Sourcing, and Scheduling of Raw Materials, Finished Products, and Services from the UK, Europe, and Far East. The ideal candidate will have strong purchasing skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
