Senior Assistant Respiratory Physiologist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Assistant Respiratory Physiologist to join our Respiratory Physiology team at King's College Hospital. As a key member of our team, you will assist with the delivery of lung function, sleep, bronchoscopy, and pleural intervention services.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform a range of diagnostic tests, including quality assured spirometry, gas transfer, and lung volume measurements.
  • Loan and maintain nebuliser equipment for patients.
  • Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and quality control of laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with the sleep service, including equipment loaning and maintenance.
  • Download overnight oximetry and WatchPAT studies.
  • Post out equipment for patients requiring home ventilatory support.
  • Clean and prepare equipment for loaning to patients.
  • Take equipment to the Medical Equipment Maintenance Department for servicing.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • 2 science A levels or equivalent.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience of performing quality assured spirometry, gas transfer, and lung volume measurements.
  • A minimum of 2 years experience as an Assistant Respiratory Physiologist.
  • Experience of setting up and downloading overnight oximetry or WatchPAT studies.
