An exciting opportunity has emerged for a dedicated Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Social Worker to join the Early Intervention in Psychosis (STEP) service team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust.

Role Overview

This is a fantastic chance to become part of a well-resourced and supportive multidisciplinary team comprising mental health professionals, carers, and peer support workers. Together, we work to enhance the quality of life for individuals experiencing their first episode of psychosis.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide triage of initial referrals, assessment, outreach, education, and liaison for young people and adults with first episode psychosis.
  • Reduce the duration of untreated psychosis by working closely with clients and their families.

Person SpecificationQualifications
  • RMN, Social Work, or Occupational Therapy Qualification
  • Current registration with relevant professional body
  • Evidence of post-qualifying professional development in an acute setting
  • Significant post-registration experience in multi-disciplinary community mental health services
Additional Criteria
  • Evidence of a good standard of literacy/English language skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including presentation of cases to multi-disciplinary case conferences

Estimated salary: £40,000 - £60,000 per annum.
