About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist, or Consultant Psychologist, Consultant Nurse, Consultant Social Worker, or Consultant Occupational Therapist to join our clinical team in Ash Ward. The successful post holder will provide senior clinical leadership and support while acting as a Mental Health Act Approved/Responsible Clinician within our low secure forensic in-patient service.

Ash Ward is part of Somerset NHS Foundation Trust's Forensic Services, providing support for those in Somerset who experience mental health difficulties and are in contact with the criminal justice system or who present with significant risks to others. Our services comprise several teams, including the Community Forensic Team, Specialist Community Mental Health Team (SCFT), Liaison and Diversion Service, and OPD Pathway.

The ideal candidate will have experience working within a Forensic Mental Health Service, completed training as a Mental Health Act Approved Clinician, and possess a Medical Degree or Professional Mental Health Qualification. They should also have clinical training and experience required for gaining UK CCT or CESR or Masters-level qualification in health/social care or demonstrable equivalent experience.
