Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Pharmacy team at Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff. As a Senior Assistant Technical Officer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services, working closely with our experienced team to provide high-quality care to our patients.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for receiving, interpreting, and dispensing prescriptions, as well as maintaining accurate records and adhering to departmental standard operating procedures. You will also have the opportunity to work in a variety of settings, including our Clinical and procurement & distribution services.

We are committed to providing ongoing training and development to ensure your success in this role. While hospital pharmacy experience is welcomed, it is not essential. We are looking for a team player who is eager to learn and contribute to our dynamic team.

Main Duties of the Job
  • Receive, interpret, and dispense prescriptions in line with departmental standard operating procedures.
  • Undertake the order, issue, and receipt of medication on wards/day units to maintain ward stock.
  • Goods receipt of drugs and other pharmaceuticals into the pharmacy department.

Work under the professional and clinical supervision of the pharmacy team, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures at all times.
