Care After Death Support Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our Care After Death Service team at Aneurin Bevan University Health Board. As a Care After Death Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing a sensitive and efficient service to bereaved relatives and carers.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure that bereaved relatives and carers receive the necessary documentation, personal effects, and relevant information in a timely and compassionate manner.
- Signpost relatives to appropriate services and gather feedback on their experiences.
- Undertake tasks within the mortuary and provide support to bereaved families during visits.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Administration and afterlife patient care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with distressed or bereaved individuals.
- Experience of working in a pressured environment and inputting data into a database.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Communication skills training and knowledge of bereavement support services.
- Experience within a mortuary environment and bereavement support.
