About the Role

Maintenance Operative - A Key Position in Our Facilities Management Team

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Operative to join our dynamic Facilities Management team at the University of Greenwich. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our campus facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs as required, in line with your skill set and qualifications.
  • Perform general handyman tasks, including basic building fabric maintenance and repair.
  • Replace light bulbs and complete other unskilled mechanical and electrical tasks.
  • Assist in ensuring seamless operation across the University.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve shared objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety and Environmental regulations.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role is essential.
  • A proactive attitude and flexibility in relation to duties and working hours are required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary to build partnerships and work collaboratively with others.
  • Ability to work effectively without supervision and rebound from setbacks and adversity.
  • IT and systems literacy, with the ability to use IT systems to provide and monitor data within Quality Assurance and other management reporting systems.
