Senior Quantity Surveyor

Our client, a leading provider of M&E engineering solutions, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in ensuring the commercial and financial success of projects across Rail, Highways, Power, and Tunnels.
Key Responsibilities:- Support Project Managers to ensure projects meet commercial and financial targets
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with client and supplier counterparts
- Contribute to regular, accurate reporting to the Commercial Manager on PHR, CVR, Cash Flow, and Weekly Updates
- Responsible for the project budget and regular commercial forecasts
- Conduct valuations for initial, interim, and final payment applications
- Manage sub-contractor and supplier accounts in line with agreed subcontracts and upstream contractual requirements
- Identify, notify, value, and agree on changes (variations, compensation events, claims)
- Work with the Commercial Manager to maximise the recovery of all contractual entitlements
- Ensure project adherence to contract terms and conditions, particularly regarding notice times and applications
- Maintain contemporary records for supporting claims, extensions of time, and the evaluation of variations
- Support tender processes as needed
- Promote and maintain professional working relationships
- Identify project risks and develop strategies to minimise commercial impact
- Demonstrable use and understanding of standard forms of contract
- Proficient knowledge of MS Office packages including Excel, Project, and Word
- Working understanding of valuation techniques for construction works, including elemental cost analysis of labor, materials, plant, sub-contract, and general expenses
- Ability to perform programme analysis and measurement of Earned Value
- Competent in using accounting concepts and forecasting cost and value based on programme and scope of works
- Familiarity with tools for managing project and business costs, including cost-saving techniques
- Detailed knowledge of NEC contracts
- Knowledge of JCT contracts
- Desired qualifications: Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Professional memberships such as RICS, CIOB, ICES, or equivalent
- Valid CSCS card
- Full UK driver's license
