At British Gypsum, we are seeking a skilled Mine Mechanical Engineer to join our team based out of Brightling Mine in East Sussex. This role is ideal for individuals with hands-on maintenance experience in a drill/blast mining environment and a strong background in mechanical engineering.

The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and coordinating maintenance systems, managing contractors, and reviewing processes to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and safety. In addition, they will provide mechanical expertise to production, maintenance, and management teams and manage plant hire.

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. The role offers a competitive benefits package and opportunities for professional growth and development.

To be considered for this position, applicants must have a 4-year mechanical engineering degree or equivalent and relevant industry experience. They should also possess excellent communication and project management skills and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
