We are looking for a Mine Mechanical Engineer to be based out of our underground mine in East Sussex.

The successful candidate will have experience of, and the ability to, plan and coordinate maintenance systems, maintenance planning, and contractors to ensure the maintenance team is efficient, sustainable, effective, and safe.

The role is based on-site 5 days a week and includes having in place fortnightly to annual maintenance plans including shutdowns, carrying out plant analysis, identifying and implementing improvements, reviewing, developing and implementing processes for maintenance planning and costings, and providing mechanical expertise where required to production, maintenance, and management.

The ideal candidate will have a 4-year mechanical engineering degree or equivalent, hands-on maintenance experience in a drill/blast mining environment, and experience in managing mining/heavy industry projects.

We are looking for someone able to follow stringent processes and systems in order to be productive and safe, with a demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, where safety is the number one priority.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Plan and coordinate maintenance systems, maintenance planning, and contractors to ensure the maintenance team is efficient, sustainable, effective, and safe.
  2. Have in place fortnightly to annual maintenance plans including shutdowns.
  3. Carry out plant analysis, identifying and implementing improvements.
  4. Review, develop and implement processes for maintenance planning and costings.
  5. Provide mechanical expertise where required to production, maintenance, and management.
  6. Manage contractors and plant hire.

Requirements:

  1. 4-year mechanical engineering degree or equivalent.
  2. Hands-on maintenance experience in a drill/blast mining environment.
  3. Experience in managing mining/heavy industry projects.
  4. Ability to follow stringent processes and systems in order to be productive and safe.
