About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Mobile Cleaning Operative to join our team at South Gloucestershire Council. As a key member of our cleaning team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our corporate Council buildings are clean and safe for pupils and staff to learn and work in.

Key Responsibilities

  • Under the supervision of a Cleaning Supervisor, you will be responsible for carrying out cleaning tasks at various sites across South Gloucestershire, following our prepared schedules and quality standards.
  • You will be responsible for using cleaning equipment and materials safely and properly, including washing and wiping surfaces, cleaning toilets, vacuuming, mopping, and using a floor polish machine.
  • You will need to move cleaning equipment and materials regularly, requiring the ability to bend, crouch, and lift.
  • You will also be required to travel between sites to cover for annual leave and other absences.

Requirements

  • You will need to have a full clean driving license and regular access to a vehicle, or alternative means of travel.
  • You will need to be able to follow processes for the safe storage and use of cleaning chemicals.
  • You will need to have good organizational skills, enabling you to follow instructions correctly and complete tasks to an agreed standard.
  • You will need to have good communication and problem-solving skills.
