Senior Maintenance Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) team at Amazon, where you will play a key role in ensuring our tools and technologies stay ahead of the curve. As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will work closely with our team to adopt the latest technologies and identify new and efficient ways of working.
Key Responsibilities- Demonstrate best practices in equipment usage and monitor teams to ensure adherence to correct processes.
- Monitor equipment performance through visual checks, condition-based monitoring, and preventative maintenance tasks, scheduling additional servicing as required.
- Supervise technicians on shift, supporting their development and serving as the first point of contact for Reliability Maintenance Engineers.
- Solve equipment issues to minimize downtime and ensure seamless package processing.
- Collaborate with the team to continuously improve systems and standardize processes across the EU network.
As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for leading a team to ensure equipment is running smoothly and efficiently. This involves monitoring processes to ensure regulations and policies are followed, as well as performing preventative maintenance to increase equipment uptime. You will also have the opportunity to suggest improvements to make our systems more efficient and productive, and implement those improvements across the EU-wide function.
You will work closely with your line manager to assist with administrative tasks and will be expected to work shift patterns, which may include weekends and nights. As you gain experience in this role, you will be well-placed to progress into more senior roles within the company.
Basic Qualifications- Apprentice-trained with HNC, HND, NVQ level 3
- Relevant experience in a technical leadership role
- Relevant experience working in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
- Relevant experience in automation or material handling equipment environments
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written local language and basic proficiency in English
- Experience working in a multi-contractor and multi-site working environment
- Understanding of PLC-based control systems and statutory compliance requirements
- Experience using computerized maintenance management systems to plan proactive maintenance and record reactive tasks
- A degree preferably in a technical discipline, operations, or business administration
