About the Role

The Finance Career Development Manager will play a crucial part in shaping the future of the Government Finance Function. This exciting opportunity will see you work collaboratively with various teams to develop a high-quality, evidence-based professional skills offer for the GFF. Your primary focus will be on designing and delivering the Finance Fast Stream offer, ensuring it supports individual learning pathways for each Fast streamer.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Coordinating the development and delivery of the Finance Fast Stream offer, ensuring it meets the learning needs of the function.
  2. Developing the Apprenticeship offer for the function, working closely with stakeholders to create a streamlined, professional, and accessible program.
  3. Building and managing relationships with the Accountancy Institutes and other partners to support professional development and training of staff across the GFF.
  4. Project managing the Career Framework and Finance Professional Development programs, ensuring target achievements are met and emerging risks are understood and managed.
  5. SUPPORTING the delivery and rollout of the Skills Capture Tool, providing monthly reporting on take-up across the function, reviewing insights, and highlighting skills needs across the function.
  6. Developing and promoting finance career stories and pathways, working to create a diverse and engaging narrative that showcases the function's capabilities.

About You

We are seeking an exceptional individual with excellent communication skills, the ability to form positive working relationships, and a focus on creating and sharing information, resources, and support as a team. If you are finance qualified or part-qualified (CCAB or CIMA) and have experience working across the finance function with a good understanding of finance activity and roles, we encourage you to apply.
