Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Operational and Technical Manager to join our team at PRS. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the Module maintenance engineering Team and overseeing all aspects of HR pertaining to the Team Employees.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance, advice, coaching, and direct support to deliver best practice selection, training, and assessment.
  • Ensure eLearning is completed and fully up to date for yourself and the team.
  • Review, maintain, and schedule role and business-specific training for yourself and the engineers within the team.
  • Attend and participate in relevant training courses.
  • Ensure appropriate control systems to meet policy and contractual commitments (KPIs).
  • Deliver the Module Maintenance programme, utilizing both in-house engineers and specialist sub-contractors.
  • Manage the supply chain, including sub-contractors and suppliers.
  • Attend ad-hoc, weekly, and monthly meetings with clients.
  • Provide technical and operational support and advice to the engineering team.
  • Manage and submit monthly reports and compliance information to the Account Manager.
  • Report to and support the Account Manager.
  • Manage WIP, including scheduling works, access arrangements, completion of works, answering financial queries, and updating the overall financial WIP report with the support of the Lead Contract Support.
  • Resolve escalations from the Helpdesk and the client within reasonable time.
  • Ensure compliance documents, contract logbooks are fully up to date and audit-ready.
  • Ensure all external portals for contract information are regularly updated according to work completion.
  • Encourage the reporting of hazards on site via the engineering team and sub-contractor supply chain.
  • Provide support outside of normal working hours in the case of call-out/escalation from the shift team, client, and/or staff.
  • Coordinate and manage the maintenance and uptime of assets and critical plant for site.
  • Ensure significant operational events are reported to building leads & estates team as soon as possible.
  • Implement plans to mitigate any risk which may have an impact on science.
  • Resolve technical issues, working collaboratively with the Hard Services Manager, by providing assistance and support to the engineering team or arranging for specialist sub-contractor attendance.
  • Generate extra works through site walk-arounds and communication with engineers, helpdesk, and sub-contractors.
  • Aid the Account Manager in Forecast Document updates monthly.
  • Support in the management of the CAFM Explorer System and reporting.
  • Attend and actively participate in weekly Webquote meetings with the Account Manager and Customer.
  • Manage Webquote and raise Extra Works jobs in a timely manner.
  • Work within the team to ensure the collaborative development of the business, effective team working, and support to colleagues.
  • Ensure business policies and processes are effectively communicated and implemented within the Team.
  • Liaise and keep informed senior management on all aspects of contract risks within the scope of the role.
  • Actively identify and implement innovation across the contract to enhance performance and continue to meet client expectations.
