Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Disability Adviser to join our team at King's College London. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues across the university to provide accurate and relevant information, advice, and guidance to disabled applicants and students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality disability support services to facilitate disabled students' full participation in their studies
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the university to review, develop, and implement policies, practices, and procedures to enhance access and inclusion of disabled students
  • Support initiatives that raise awareness of the needs of disabled students throughout King's
  • Develop and deliver associated training

Requirements

  • First degree or equivalent work experience, including practical experience working with disabled people
  • Competent at operating appropriate IT systems, including experience in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, and Excel, and ideally including a case management system
  • Experience of providing information, advice, and guidance and/or experience of providing disability-related support
  • Experience of providing training in disability awareness and ideally in embedding inclusive practices within education
  • Understanding of disability support issues for students in Higher Education and knowledge of funding and support available to disabled students
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time post (24.5 hours per week over 3 or 4 days per week), and you will be offered an indefinite contract.
