Datacenter System Software Architect Role

European Tech Recruit is seeking a highly skilled Datacenter System Software Architect to join our team in London. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving the end-to-end delivery of systems software for our company's datacenter infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Datacenter System Software Architect, you will serve as a bridge between various teams across countries, working closely with people from data center infrastructure teams, computing resource management teams, SRE teams, and end business teams in different areas, driving stability engineering, performance optimization engineering, and new directions of system-level hardware and software co-design.
  • You will initialize and manage a variety of complex, cross-functional programs and lead all aspects of assigned programs delivery.
  • You will create and maintain the roadmap for the team.
  • You will define the way of driving these programs and constantly find ways of improving them in a data-driven manner.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Many years of deep system software background (OS / Kernel / Storage / Networking / Compiler).
  • Good understanding of datacenter system software knowledge, including but not limited to server architecture, CPU/GPU architecture, server firmware, OS, Linux Kernel, datacenter networking, datacenter storage, or compilers.

Desirable Experience:

  • Effective communication skills to handle communications to teams, management, and cross-functional stakeholders at all levels, and a proven track record of getting things done/shipping projects.
  • Experience working in a fast-moving environment where self-motivated, autonomy, and self-decision making are needed (to an extent) and juggling between multiple projects/tasks.
  • Experience working in multi-time zones, multi-culture is preferred.
  • Passionate about the Internet industry and willing to grow with the company in the process of learning by dealing with emerging global issues and challenges.
