Job Overview

The Blue Spark Organisation Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Product Developer to join their team. As a key member of the product development team, you will be responsible for managing and driving complex new product development (NPD) projects from concept stage through to launch.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement the NPD strategy and work with global teams to deliver exciting new products for the branded business.
  • Manage specific projects within the development pipeline for the European market, ensuring that they are commercially viable and delivered at pace.
  • Lead a small team of developers, encouraging and inspiring them to grow and develop their skills.
  • Manage key external stakeholder partnerships, influencing and navigating key project milestones to ensure full alignment and collaboration.
  • Be involved in all stages of the product lifecycle, from product formulation to factory trials and launch.
  • Use consumer and market insights, technology trends, and knowledge of new ingredients to identify new opportunities to expand the product portfolio.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve successful product launches.

Requirements

  • A degree in Food Science or Food Technology.
  • Experience within ingredients, powdered products, or drinks would be ideal.
  • Working within a branded business would be advantageous.
  • A real passion for developing food and drink products.
  • Adept at managing the innovation pipeline.
  • A solid understanding of recipe formulation, scale-up, and launch.
  • A strong track record of successfully managing and delivering projects with cross-functional teams.
  • A natural communicator with the ability to build and maintain collaborative working relationships.
  • Team management experience is required for this role.
