Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Maternity Cover

We have a vacancy for a Teaching Assistant to provide support and inclusion for students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at Bourne Grammar School.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with the SENCO and Class Teachers to deliver targeted interventions, support student inclusion, and promote academic achievement. This involves one-to-one support, recording homework, dealing with behavior issues, and assisting with organization and planning.

You will be responsible for managing student behavior, advising teaching staff on student needs, and attending SEND-related meetings. The post holder will also contribute to the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

This is a fixed-term position covering maternity leave, offering 20 hours per week from Monday to Friday, 08:40-12:40. The estimated salary for this role is £11,812 per annum.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the support and inclusion of students with SEN.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to small groups or individual students as required.
  • Manage student behavior and ensure a productive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the school's commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
