Distinct Recruitment is seeking a seasoned Procurement Specialist to join their team in Burton on Trent. As a Category Management Expert, you will be responsible for the strategic procurement of direct raw and processed materials. Your expertise in supplier management and performance reviews will be crucial in achieving cost savings and improving commercial terms. With a strong background in contract management and negotiation, you will be able to effectively manage contract negotiations and approve new suppliers. If you have experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment and possess exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, we encourage you to apply. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a successful business that is undergoing major development plans and growth. You will have the flexibility of hybrid working, with 3 days typically spent in the office and the rest at home. Your responsibilities will include:

* Category management and taking full responsibility of category spend
* Supplier management and performance reviews
* Managing contract negotiations and achieving cost savings
* Approving and onboarding new suppliers and achieving better commercial terms

To be considered, you will ideally have:

* Circa 4/5 years + procurement experience
* Previous experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment
* Contract management and negotiation experience
* Exceptional communication/relationship-building skills
* Understanding or exposure to project buying would be very advantageous
