Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Operations Engineer to join our team at Virgin Atlantic Airways.

As a key member of our engineering operations team, you will be responsible for providing technical support, fleet monitoring, and AOG management to all Virgin stations worldwide.

You will work closely with the Engineering Operations Manager to manage operational disruptions caused by technical situations, ensuring the safe, on-time delivery of our commercial flying program.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Minimise Engineering delays by providing backup and support as necessary.
  2. Ensure that as focal for an AOG recovery, parallel path actions are formulated and deployed.
  3. Manage the day-to-day engineering operation through fleet monitoring and defect management.
  4. Ensure published departmental procedures for AOG management and reporting are followed consistently.
  5. Ensure customer experience and NPS impact is considered in decision making.
  6. Safety and compliance must be driven by Technical Operations in all decision making.

Requirements:

  1. Hold EASA Part 66 B1 and/or B2 Licenses, or a Degree qualification / HND in a relevant Engineering subject.
  2. Experience and in-depth technical knowledge of the Virgin fleet.
  3. Proven ability to analyse and interpret data from a variety of sources.
  4. Effective decision-making skills.
  5. Broad understanding of health and safety implications.
  6. Proven communication, influencing and negotiating skills.
  7. Logical, analytical and creative approach to solving problems.
  8. Able to produce technical instruction/reports for various recipients.
  9. Able to make clear decisions in pressure situations.
  10. Current on Human Factors, Part M and appropriate training programs.
  11. Computer literate with knowledge of Virgin IT systems, Microsoft office.
