About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) team as a Clinical Lead. This is a newly established full-time substantive Consultant Post, which will play a key role in leading the CAMHS Acute Care Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychiatric assessments, including assessment of risk to self and others.
  • Manage patients under the care of the CAMHS Crisis and Liaison pathway, including risk assessment and management.
  • Liaise with community teams, family, and agencies supporting children and young people in crisis.
  • Ensure the Mental Health Act is used appropriately, providing medical recommendations for assessments taking place in the community and 136 Suites.
  • Perform MHA RC duties and support colleagues in T4 CPA discharge reviews to minimize the length of stay in T4 and enhance community care packages for CYP being discharged.
