Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Orthopaedic Technician to provide high-quality casting services for patients in the Orthopaedic Outpatients department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide patient-centred casting for orthopaedic outpatients
  • Carry out a full range of plaster techniques, including routine and complex casts, as well as resting and functional splinting
  • Support patients during cast application and removal, and provide advice on cast care
  • Work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team

Person Specification

Essential

  • BOA/RCN (SON) AOT Diploma in casting techniques or British Casting Certificate
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology relevant to orthopaedics

Desirable

  • Experience of working in an acute hospital environment
  • Evidence of enthusiasm, flexibility, and commitment to team ethos
