About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Bioinformatics Developer to join our team at Yourgene Health. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and tools that implement bioinformatics processing algorithms and pipelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide software development and bioinformatics expertise to support the design, development, and maintenance of software applications and tools.
  • Contribute to the development, verification, and validation of software applications and tools that implement bioinformatics processing algorithms and pipelines.
  • Produce and maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation of software developed.
  • Work collaboratively with development scientists to create products, services, and processes that meet the needs of our customers.
  • Support and provide guidance to junior staff.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Computer Science or a related field with a strong software development component.
  • Excellent software programming skills with experience of appropriate compiled and scripted general-purpose and domain-specific languages.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of software development processes.
  • Ability to perform and troubleshoot complex bioinformatic analyses independently and to a high level of quality.
  • Experience of working in a commercial organization is highly desirable.
