The PCU is a six-bedded level 2 care facility that provides specialized care to patients who have undergone cardiac and thoracic procedures and require step-down care from Intensive Care. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality nursing care to our patients, working closely with our multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement specialized programs of nursing care to meet the unique needs of our patients.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Sister/Senior Charge Nurse to ensure the highest standards of nursing care are delivered.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

Requirements
  • Registered on part 1 of the NMC register.
  • Current NMC registration.
  • NTCCN ITU course or equivalent (completed or working towards).
  • Experience of caring for patients with cardiac/thoracic conditions, including in a level 2 facility.
  • Previous Band 6 experience.
