General Practice Nurse

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Practice Nurse to join our team at Tower Hamlets GP Care Group. As a General Practice Nurse, you will be working in a community-based setting, providing holistic, person-centred care in a multi-professional team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide travel advice and vaccinate patients appropriately;
- Assess and care for patients presenting with uncomplicated wounds, including removal of sutures and clips;
- Support and advise patients requesting information relating to reproductive and sexual health;
- Communicate effectively within the MDT teams in general practice, patients and carers;
- Anticipate barriers to communication and take action to improve communication;
- Act as an advocate when representing the patients and colleagues viewpoints to others;
- Maintain accurate patient records including entering onto the computer using agreed Snomed codes;
- Participate in practice audit and research projects as required;
- Ensure all statutory regulations (Health & Safety, COSHH, etc.) are implemented and adhered to;
- Attend and participate in staff and Practice meetings and in-house clinical training sessions.

Person Specification
Essential
- Registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council;
- Thorough and up-to-date knowledge of nursing theory and best practice at the level of a newly qualified nurse;
- Knowledge of primary health care and General Practice;
- Understanding of equality & diversity and how to apply it;
- Demonstrates an empathetic and caring approach to patients and relatives and ensure that patients dignity & respect is maintained at all times.
