Job Title: Power Plant Engineer

At Assystem, we are committed to accelerating the energy transition and tackling the monumental task of switching to low-carbon energy. We are seeking a highly skilled Power Plant Engineer to join our Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for various Turbine Island design development activities, working closely with multi-disciplined teams and the supply chain to deliver the Turbine Island design. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and reviewing Heat Balance Diagrams for the Turbine Island and conventional plant systems.
  • Ensuring seamless integration of Turbine Island design into the overall power plant.
  • Adhering to statutory H&S policies, project quality, and the Quality Management System.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Industry experience in nuclear, thermal power, oil & gas, or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Extensive technical background in thermal power systems or similar projects.
  • Skilled in identifying and managing critical interfaces on major projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of UK Health and Safety regulations, safety systems, HAZOP, and engineering standards.
  • Awareness or experience in Systems Engineering is a plus.
  • Professional in handling sensitive nuclear information, adhering to export control obligations.
  • Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma in engineering.
  • CEng or working towards it.
