Senior Mechanical Engineer - Turbine Island Design

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Fusion and Modular Nuclear Business Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for various Turbine Island design development activities, working closely with multi-disciplined teams and the supply chain to deliver the Turbine Island design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Heat Balance Diagrams: Develop and review Heat Balance Diagrams for the Turbine Island and conventional plant systems.
  • Design Integration: Ensure seamless integration of Turbine Island design into the overall power plant.
  • Compliance: Adhere to statutory H&S policies, project quality, and the Quality Management System.

Requirements

  • Industry Experience: Previous work in nuclear, thermal power, oil & gas, or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Technical Strength: Extensive technical background in thermal power systems or similar projects.
  • Project Management: Skilled in identifying and managing critical interfaces on major projects.
  • Safety Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of UK Health and Safety regulations, safety systems, HAZOP, and engineering standards.
  • Systems Engineering: Awareness or experience in Systems Engineering is a plus.
  • Confidentiality: Professional in handling sensitive nuclear information, adhering to export control obligations.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma in engineering.
  • Professional Registration: CEng or working towards it.
