We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse to join our Catheter Laboratory team as a Senior Staff Nurse. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working closely with the cath lab manager and multi-disciplinary team members to maintain excellent clinical standards of nursing practice and staff development.
Main Responsibilities- Provide excellent patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in accordance with Trust policies.
- Operate medical equipment pertaining to the Cath Lab, following training and reaching a satisfactory level of competence.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing documentation, including electronic records, to the Trust standard.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of a departmental ethos and standard approach to delivering excellent nursing care, under the supervision of the cath lab lead nurse/sister.
- Participate in conducting nursing audits to achieve agreed standards and contribute to the development of care pathways.
- Take on the role of cath lab coordinator to ensure the smooth running of daily cath lab lists, utilizing the electronic scheduling system.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of a departmental ethos and standard approach to delivering excellent nursing care, in conjunction with the staff team.
- Provide a holistic approach to patient care, maintaining excellent clinical standards of nursing practice.
- Under the supervision of the lead nurse, contribute to the process of setting goals and benchmarking standards of care.
- Promote awareness and compliance amongst colleagues regarding Trust policies, procedures, guidelines, and standards.
- Ensure a suitable and safe environment for the physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being of staff, patients/clients, and their relatives/carers.
- Identify and report clinical risks, taking appropriate action under the supervision of the modern matron/catheter laboratory manager, in accordance with the Trust Risk Management policy.
- Record and report all incidents/complaints involving staff, patients, and visitors, in accordance with Trust policies, and assist in any investigations as required.
- Delegate tasks and activities to a range of team members in relation to patient care, for example, when taking charge or as link nurse.
- Work in all areas of the Catheter Lab suite, including the Recovery area.
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills.
- Knowledge of national and local child protection policy and legislative framework.
- Awareness of recent research and developments relating to Child Protection work and its implications for practice.
