About the Role

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Building Services Craftsman to join our Estates Team in Sutton. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in delivering an optimized service to our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work proactively with and support the Supervisor in delivering an optimized service to our patients and staff.
  • Undertake on-call and overtime duties, including weekend work, to ensure the smooth operation of our facilities.
  • Use your skills and expertise to enhance the service delivered by the Estates Team.
  • Be part of a team of building services engineers and carry out work and tasks effectively to maximize productivity.
  • Maximize value from subcontractors and conduct and communicate with staff, visitors, and patients in a professional manner at all times.
  • Contribute to building strong working relationships within the Estates Team and contractors.
  • Attend regular team meetings and be willing to cooperate and support team members to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the Estates service.

Requirements

  • A good standard of education with manual dexterity.
  • A recognized trade apprenticeship and educated to City & Guilds/NVQ in core skills, or equivalent working experience and responsibilities.
  • Extensive experience working in an engineering environment and ability to demonstrate competency through skills gained and training courses.
  • Service training certificates and evidence of self-advancement.
  • Experience of working in a large, diverse organization and working in an ISO 9001 framework.
