Job Summary:

Leonardo is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer to join our Communications and Force Protection Team. As an Electronic Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in supporting our Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support new designs by undertaking electronic design analysis, circuit simulation, and prototyping.
  • Contribute to electronic schematic capture and PCB layout support.
  • Design and/or specify power supply and interface card solutions.
  • Test and debug electronic circuits.
  • Develop subsystem engineering solutions and specifications.
  • Define electronic COTS products such as Open VPX cards and power supplies.
  • Specify cabling and connector solutions.
  • Integrate and verify system and subsystems.
  • Support qualification activities, including EMC.
  • Provide production and delivery support.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of all stages of the engineering development lifecycle.
  • Experience in digital and analogue electronic design.
  • Board-level PCB design skills, ideally using Siemens EDA Xpedition Enterprise.
  • Ability to operate at the product system level.
  • Experience in specifying and defining COTS items.
  • Working with subcontract suppliers.
  • Specifying cable and connector solutions.
  • System-level integration.
  • Ability to make technical decisions within own sphere of responsibility.
  • Willingness to work proactively in a fast-moving and dynamic environment.

Desirable Skills:

  • Safety, security, and other legislative constraints knowledge.
  • Domain experience in Electronics Warfare and Electronics Countermeasures.
