Job Summary:

Leonardo is seeking an Electronic Design Engineer to join our Communications and Force Protection Team. As an Electronic Design Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting our Electronic Counter Measures (ECM) programmes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support new designs undertaking electronic design analysis, circuit simulation, and prototyping
  • Support electronic schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Design and/or specify power supply and interface card solutions
  • Test and debug electronic circuits
  • Develop subsystem engineering solutions and specifications
  • Define electronic COTS products such as Open VPX cards and power supplies
  • Specify cabling and connector solutions
  • Integrate and verify system and subsystems
  • Support qualification, including EMC
  • Provide production and delivery support

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience of all stages of the engineering development lifecycle
  • Experience of digital and analogue electronic design knowledge
  • Board level PCB design experience (ideally using Siemens EDA Xpedition Enterprise)
  • Operating at the product system level
  • Specifying and defining COTS items
  • Working with subcontract suppliers
  • Specifying cable and connector solutions
  • System level integration
  • Ability to make technical decisions within own sphere of responsibility
  • Willingness to work proactively within a fast-moving and dynamic environment

Desirable Skills:

  • Safety, security, and other legislative constraints knowledge
  • Domain experience in Electronics Warfare and Electronics Countermeasures
