We are looking for a skilled Software Engineering Manager to join our team at Amazon's London office. As a key member of our Machine Learning team, you will be responsible for defining and driving the technical direction of our Large Language Models initiative. - **Technical Leadership**: You will lead a team of engineers to design and develop scalable and reliable Large Language Models solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical decisions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- **Strategic Vision**: Develop and communicate a technical vision for the Large Language Models initiative, ensuring it aligns with company goals and industry trends. Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and ML, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation in our products and services.
- **People Management**: Build and manage a high-performing team of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to help them grow professionally and personally. Foster a culture of collaboration, open communication, and continuous learning. Evaluate individual performance and provide actionable feedback to drive improvement.
- **Collaboration**: Work closely with Product Management, Design, and other stakeholders to gather requirements, define product roadmaps, and prioritize feature development. Communicate technical trade-offs and recommendations to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring everyone understands the implications of technical decisions.
- **Operational Excellence**: Drive process improvements and best practices throughout the engineering organization, focusing on quality, efficiency, and scalability. Identify areas for automation and implement solutions to reduce manual effort and increase productivity.

Our ideal candidate has 8+ years of experience in software development and leadership roles, with a strong track record of delivering complex technical projects. You should have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be comfortable presenting technical concepts to non-technical audiences. A salary range of £120,000 to £150,000 per annum reflects the level of expertise required for this role.
