Job Description:

This permanent position as a Speech and Language Therapist is available in a psychiatric hospital, offering an exciting opportunity to work with individuals who require specialist support to develop effective communication strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting clients in developing functional communication skills, facilitating their progression towards discharge and enhancing their quality of life.

About the Team:

The Speech and Language Therapy team is committed to delivering high-quality care to individuals with communication difficulties. As a key member of the team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve shared goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support clients in developing functional communication skills.
  • Facilitate client progression towards discharge and enhance their quality of life.
  • Collaborate closely with the Lead Speech and Language Therapist and provide support to the Speech and Language Therapy Assistant (SLTA).

Requirements:

  • HCPC-approved degree or master's qualification (or equivalent) in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Experience working with individuals diagnosed with Autism (ASD)/Learning Disabilities, including those with complex needs and challenging behaviors.
