Graduate Waste Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Graduate Waste Engineer to join our team at UK Atomic Energy Authority.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of our waste management practices and play a pivotal role in ensuring the safe and responsible handling of radioactive materials.
The successful candidate will have a degree in Physical Sciences, Environmental Sciences, Nuclear Engineering or a related discipline and excellent communication skills.
A competitive salary of £32,729 per annum reflects the importance of this role in supporting the UK's nuclear energy sector.
Job DescriptionThis role involves working within the Tritium Fuel Cycle Division, where you will be responsible for designing and constructing waste assay plans, including the execution and analysis of data production, scientific reports, scholarly papers, and presenting findings at conferences.
You will also support WIG teams performing activities associated with waste management and waste disposal, including sampling goals, the assay and modelling of waste, peer reviews of data, consignment development and co-ordination of consignments off-site as directed by UKAEA procedures and instructions.
Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance with site Environmental Permit/s, radiological control documentation, and collaborating with staff and students on Early Career projects.
