This role requires employees to **complete an online Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)**, including The Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) checks for criminal convictions.

**The Role**

As **_Nuclear Decommissioning Apprentice, _**you will play a pivotal role in the Waste Services division by assisting the Facility Supervisors in the maintenance of equipment and personal protective equipment to ensure safe operations to UKAEA and national standards, implementing safe and effective written and verbal instructions by the Facility Supervisors.

You will ensure careful handling, packaging and tracking of samples to internal and external collaborators, alongside completing paperwork for on-site and off-site transfer. This includes updating electronic records, inputting data into UKAEA radioactive inventory database comply with facility Safety Management Requirements as defined in the facilities Safety Cases.

**Additional Responsibilities**
- Complete national academic qualification as defined by the apprenticeship training standard: Nuclear operative / Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education
- Attend designated training provider, develop and attain a good knowledge of engineering skills.
- Represent the UKAEA Organisation and attend external outreach and careers events.
