Job Title: Radio Systems Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Radio Systems Engineer to join our team at NEC Software Solutions. As a key member of our Managed Solutions team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our radio networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide customer support to end users to triage faults/issues
  • Provide 2nd line technical support to field-based engineers relating to radio faults
  • Install, configure, and test radio network equipment and software components
  • Undertake repairs of various handheld and rack-mounted radio equipment
  • Attend customer sites to perform site surveys, system maintenance, assist with fault finding/repair or project work as necessary
  • Participate in out-of-hours telephone support as part of a rota

Requirements:

  • 2nd Line Radio repair experience including maintenance and fault resolution
  • Antenna, PMR installation and decommissioning
  • Experience of Tetra, microwave, and DMR systems, including cell enhancement and repeater systems
  • Personal and on-site health and safety
  • Liaison with and coordination of both client and 3rd party contractors
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Windows and Unix-based systems
  • General awareness of RF and electronic test equipment
  • Understanding of IP networks/LAN
