Psicon Ltd is seeking an experienced Paediatrician to join our team as a Child Development Specialist. We offer flexible working hours, with up to four appointments per day, paid on a competitive per assessment tariff (self-employed, outside IR35). The successful candidate will have expertise in autism spectrum disorder ASD and/or ADHD assessments for children and young people.

About the Role:

  • Conduct comprehensive developmental histories using preferred methods/tools to evaluate children undergoing autism assessments.
  • Observe the child/young person during sessions and ensure questions are asked in an age-appropriate and compassionate manner.
  • Review ADOS reports, developmental history, and relevant collateral information from home and school in the same session.
  • Formulate a diagnosis, conclude the assessment, and provide feedback to the family in a kind, age-appropriate, and compassionate manner, including recommendations and signposting to local resources.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team in cases where further information is required, and offer a separate follow-up session to conclude the diagnosis.
  • Produce high-quality, detailed diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment, adhering to DSM-5 criteria and report templates.
  • Request onward referrals as clinically necessary, in line with local NHS Trust protocols.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
