Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Power Plant Materials Engineer to join our team at Uniper Energy. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing materials engineering support to our operational assets and wider business.

About the Role

In this exciting opportunity, you will be responsible for conducting failure investigations of power plant components, including high-temperature high-pressure vessels and piping, gas and steam turbines, and wind turbines. You will also be involved in research and development, focusing on life extension of materials in existing power plants and advanced materials for new and next-generation power plants, including decarbonization technologies.

Your Profile

To succeed in this role, you will need a degree in Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Metallurgy, or Corrosion Science. Your knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and their mitigation on various power and process plants is essential. As a self-starter, you will plan and respond to changing priorities with the ability to deliver multiple projects simultaneously.

Working with Us

You will work as part of our wider team, committed to working flexibly and delivering results-driven solutions. Occasionally, you may be required to work on Uniper Energy's assets in the UK and Europe for short periods. This role involves physical demands, possibly involving working at heights and in confined spaces.

The estimated salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
