Operational Risk Officer Role Overview

The Operational Risk Officer is a strategic professional responsible for identifying, assessing, and mitigating operational risks that could impact the bank's business operations. This role requires a deep understanding of risk management principles, business processes, and technology systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement operational risk policies, procedures, and controls to minimize losses from internal processes, inadequate controls, and emerging risks.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations to senior management on risk mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify and prioritize operational risk issues.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective risk management.
  • Monitor and report on operational risk metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in risk management, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
