Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Battery Energy Storage Systems Engineer to join our team at oilandgas. As a Principal / Technical Director Level Engineer, you will be responsible for leading complex projects and providing technical expertise in the design and engineering of battery energy storage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Project Leadership: Lead and inspire teams delivering high-impact projects, fostering excellence in all aspects of BESS design and engineering.
  2. Technical Expertise: Provide advanced technical input to address BESS challenges and opportunities, developing and implementing solutions from conceptual stage through to detailed engineering.
  3. Feasibility and Optimisation: Spearhead feasibility studies and capital estimates, undertaking techno-economic modelling and optimisation / sizing studies for microgrids and hybrid systems.
  4. Vendor Equipment Management: Lead key equipment vendor selection processes, ensuring that selected vendors meet project requirements and standards.
  5. Site Engagement: Conduct condition site inspections of energy storage assets during and at the completion of projects.
  6. Project Management: Oversee projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
  7. Client Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and key point of contact for technical expertise and project delivery.
  8. Business Development: Contribute to business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations and the expansion of oilandgas's portfolio in the energy sector.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, energy systems or a related field.
  2. Extensive experience in BESS engineering at a Principal or Technical Director level.
  3. Deep knowledge of battery technologies, energy management systems and power electronics.
  4. Proven track record of leading complex projects, with a strong focus on technical excellence, client satisfaction and commercial success.
  5. Adept at navigating the regulatory landscape and ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
