Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Vistry Group. This role will be based in the South West region and will involve managing all costs related to new build residential developments.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with experience in managing costs and budgets for large-scale construction projects. They will also possess excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of £55,000 - £65,000 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a generous salary, we offer a range of benefits, including a company car or car allowance, private healthcare, and enhanced maternity, paternity, and adoption leave.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage all costs related to new build residential developments, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Work closely with senior management and other departments to ensure that costs are aligned with business objectives.
  • Develop and implement effective cost-saving strategies to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to negotiate prices and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including building codes and safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in quantity surveying, preferably in a residential development setting.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and make informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with industry software and systems, including Autodesk and Excel.
