Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Goods Vehicle Maintenance Specialist to join our Engineering Team at FedEx. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and reliability of our fleet of vehicles and trailers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and trailers to ensure they are safe and legal for operation.
  • Conduct thorough inspections and diagnose defects to ensure vehicles are in good working condition.
  • Prepare vehicles for annual MOT testing and ensure they meet the required standards.
  • Investigate and rectify vehicle defects in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure the safe use of all tools, plant, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Fully skilled with applicable Licenses / Vocational Training (e.g., LGV C&E licence (class one)).
  • City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
  • Knowledge of the use and operation of all automotive equipment and testing / troubleshooting equipment.
  • Ability to lift and manoeuvre Heavy Vehicle Components.
  • Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Previous experience within a similar role.
