Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join our Engineering Team at our Vehicle Maintenance Unit in South East. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining the safety and reliability of our fleet of vehicles and trailers by performing service and maintenance tasks in accordance with planned schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on vehicles and trailers, including inspections, repairs, and replacements of parts.
  • Ensure that all vehicles and trailers are safe, legal, and fit for duty.
  • Complete defect reports and associated paperwork to comply with legal requirements.
  • Prepare vehicles and trailers for annual MOT testing to ensure a first-time pass.
  • Investigate and rectify vehicle defects, and perform ad-hoc vehicle repairs as needed.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards and ensure the safe use of all tools, plant, and ancillary equipment.
Requirements
  • Fully skilled with applicable licenses/vocational training (e.g., LGV C&E license).
  • City & Guilds parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in commercial vehicle repairs.
  • Knowledge of automotive equipment and testing/troubleshooting equipment.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver heavy vehicle components.
  • Experience with welding and basic D.C. electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Valid driving license and previous experience in a similar role.
