Medical Director for Blood Disorders - East of England

An NHS Trust in the East of England seeks a leading Medical Director for Blood Disorders. This role combines the duties of a Consultant Haematologist with strategic leadership responsibilities.

About the Role

The successful candidate will oversee the delivery of high-quality clinical haematology services, including blood film and marrow review, laboratory, anticoagulant, and transfusion support. They will lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals and be responsible for developing and implementing policies and procedures related to blood disorders.

About the Department

The department has an active interest in clinical research, working with the local university. We cover a population of over 850,000 with over 7,500 staff across two main sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the delivery of high-quality clinical haematology services.
  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to blood disorders.
  • Collaborate with the biomedical scientists and other members of the laboratory staff.

Salary: £120,000 - £150,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
