About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Social, Emotional Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Social, Emotional Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a Special Educational Needs school in Spalding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work 1:1 or in group sessions with students with SEMH needs, following the school curriculum and in collaboration with the Classroom Teacher.
  • Develop and implement individualized support plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Provide emotional support and guidance to students, promoting their social, emotional, and mental wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system for students.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures related to SEMH support.
Requirements
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a Special Educational Needs setting.
  • Relevant qualifications in Special Educational Needs, Education, Psychology, Criminology, or Psychotherapy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Commitment to promoting the social, emotional, and mental wellbeing of students, and to creating a safe and supportive learning environment.
