We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Head and Neck Thyroid Nurse Specialist to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our ENT outpatient department, you will play a vital role in establishing new nurse-led services and clinical pathways, working closely with consultants and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care.
Main Responsibilities- Establish and lead nurse-led services and clinical pathways in ENT, working closely with consultants and other healthcare professionals.
- Support the development of new services and pathways, including the 2-week wait (suspected cancer) pre-visit planning clinics.
- Work closely with the Band 7 Nurse Specialist and the wider MDT to deliver high-quality patient care.
- Develop specific procedural skills, such as head and neck examinations and supervised pharyngolaryngeal endoscopy.
- Provide support to patients on the ward following thyroidectomy surgery and provide support during inpatient stay and following surgery.
- Take calls from the Nurse Advice line, monitor blood results, and run clinics alongside head and neck consultants reviewing patients face-to-face.
