About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Compliance and Environmental Manager to join our client's site in Birmingham. As a key member of the team, you will provide expert advice and guidance on Health, Safety, Environmental, and Compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the site's integrated management system within the framework of ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 50001, BS EN 15593, FSC, PEFC, MCERTs, and the site EPR Installation Permit requirements.
- Provide competent advice to the leadership team and site on Health, Safety, Environmental, and Compliance matters.
- Manage all aspects of the Compliance department, including line management and mentoring of the full-time support.
- Introduce other compliance-related systems and project work as required by the organisation.
- Be on the Duty Managers rota, involving being on call approximately 1 week in 8.
- Be available to handle all out-of-hours HSE and Compliance issues.
- Communicate all Compliance issues Company-wide, whether locally on the plant or collectively at a Team Briefing.
- Report sustainability, environmental, health and safety statistics in an efficient and timely manner to relevant stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Good working knowledge of the Environmental Permitting regulations, ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and ISO 45001.
- NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6 in Health and Safety or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of PUWER Regulations 1998 and Management Health Safety.
- Relevant work experience in manufacturing and/or heavy industry and construction.
