Wound Care Specialist

Job Summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen within Central London Community Health Trust's Tissue Viability team for a motivated healthcare support worker with an interest in wound care to provide tissue viability care, advice, support, education, and training to patients and carers.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Tissue Viability nurse to provide tissue viability care, advice, support, education, and training to patients and carers on knowledge of relevant evidence, current research, good practice guidelines, and tissue viability policies within CLCH.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide tissue viability care, advice, support, education, and training to patients and carers.
- Work under the direction and supervision of the Registered Tissue Viability nurse.
- Rotate across a number of clinic services, including wound clinic and leg ulcer clinic.
- Support with home visits.
Person Specification
Essential
- Higher Professional Diploma in Health and Wellbeing (NVQ/QCF - Level 3) or a recognised equivalent course.
- Experience of working in a health or social care setting.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
- Experience with the use of Microsoft Office and a variety of databases.
- Experience of complex wound management in community.
Desirable
- GCSE grade A-C or equivalent in English and Maths.
- ECDL certificate.
- Registration with the national regulatory body (when it becomes available).
Skills and Knowledge
- Demonstrate an acceptable level of numeracy and literacy.
- An awareness of risk management.
- Knowledge of multi-agency services available and processes for referral.
- Knowledge of the effects of the ageing process and needs of vulnerable adults in relation to their health and wellbeing.

Requirements
- A full, valid, UK driving licence and access to a car to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
