Healthcare Support Worker

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our team at Ravensbury Park Medical Centre. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our nursing staff in providing exceptional service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide delegated healthcare support to patients, working closely with our multi-professional team to deliver care that meets their individual needs.
- Conduct phlebotomy services, taking blood samples as requested by our nurses and GPs, and referring to them as necessary in accordance with agreed clinical guidelines.
- Perform blood pressure checks, urine tests, heights and weights, body mass index, and/or waist measurements, and record results as required.
- Support our nursing team with chronic disease care for patients, including providing support with monitoring and data entry into SystmOne.
- Undertake NHS Health Checks and promote the Chlamydia Screening Programme to eligible patients.
- Provide chaperone and assistance to clinicians during designated minor surgery clinics, as directed.
- Refer and report any investigation/examination findings and results to the appropriate professional.
- Support patients in accessing different professionals, listening to their requests/problems, and directing them to the appropriate health professional or staff member, while providing basic health advice and support.
- Maintain high standards of tidiness, hygiene, and safety in the use of all equipment and areas of work, in line with our Practice Infection Control Policy.
